iPod withdrawals

November 11th, 2008

So, my iPod crapped the bed. It tells me I need to restore it. Of course I go through all the steps listed on the Apple site, but its still just a paper weight.

To make matter worse, Apple thought it was out of warrantee since it probably sat on the shelf for a few months before my wide bought it for me. So I had to go through the hassle of contacting the retailer and getting their corporate office to email me a pdf of all the activity at their store for the year. Ah… yeah, my wife is a shopper……

Still working on installing OS X Leo on my Inspiron 9100

October 31st, 2008

So, I have the latest Kalyway Leo install DVD. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve tried the install. BUT, I’m not giving up. Why waste a perfectly good laptop with Windows. I’d love to get a new Mac Book Pro, but can’t really spend the money right now.

Back to install process, again cause I love Macs and OS X.

Day 1 of the 2008-2009 ski season in the books

October 31st, 2008

October 30th, 2008. Scott, Yanni and I meet at the Midway Lodge at 7:30 am. To my surprise the lot is full. Yeah, full. The resort won’t be open for another month and yet the lot is full of skiers and riders eager to sample the goods. Some spent the night on high to get first tracks in the am. Others opted for the dawn patrol. Either way being on snow before Halloween is always sic.

My first 13.1!

May 27th, 2007

So running is not my forte. Let’s rephrase that, distance running is not my forte. I can run all around the soccer field all day with no problems. Sure, my age is catching up with me and if I’m not playing regularly I’m quite sore the next day.

Last year my wife and I plus three others did the Burlington Marathon Relay. It was fun and easy as all I had was a 6 mile leg (which was the longest of the legs in the relay). Anyway, this year we lost a runner and decided to create two teams. This meant I had to run 13.1 rather than just 6.

Since ASC is all done! What’s next? And where to ski?

May 27th, 2007

Yeah, I know it’s just about summer, but it’s only a few months until ski season. And I know the blog has been neglected, but what can I do.

Since I’ve been an ASC passholder for the last… ah… 10+ years, I’m not sure what to do. Big K is so close, but we all know the best snow hits up north. Do I spend a Sh!t load and get a Stowe pass? You know I want it, bad. Should I spend less and get a pass at da Bush? Maybe even Mad River? It will be revealed at some point.
